finally

Sometimes silence isn't empty.
Sometimes it's the first place where your heart finally realizes it doesn't have to defend itself anymore.
I've spent so long carrying tension that I forgot what it felt like to simply exist. Every conversation felt heavy. Every glance carried words that were never spoken. Every day seemed to end with another crack that no one knew how to repair.
Arguments don't stay where they happen.
They follow you into bed. Into the shower. Into your work. They sit beside you in complete silence until even breathing feels exhausting.
And then there are evenings like this.
An empty apartment. No voices. No expectations. No tears waiting behind the next sentence.
Just stillness.
For the first time in what feels like forever, I can hear myself think. I can feel my shoulders slowly relax. I can feel my heartbeat without wondering what comes next.
Nothing has been fixed.
Tomorrow may still hurt.
But tonight, there is no storm inside these four walls.
Only silence.
And somehow, for a little while, silence feels more like home than anything else.
